Books that may well interest the cross-dressers amongst us.

Cartoons By Christine-Jane Wilson

'What's On TV Tonight?'

A book of nearly 100 cartoons drawn by Christine-Jane Wilson. In the magazine Forum, the editor wrote: “ . . the answer is not 'Eastenders', you’ll be glad to hear, but delicious feminine clothing such as lacy bras, six inch stilettos and the sheerest of stockings.

"What’s on the TV Tonight? Is a charming book, depicting transvestites in a variety of amusing situations. Because it is the creation of a TV, none other than Christine Jane Wilson, the editor of The Glad Rag, the book always laughs with, not at, transvestites. The author draws on her own experience, as well as her imagination, to produce cartoons showing the dreadfully embarrassing things that can happen to TVs, whether in social or family context. But it’s not blushes all the way; some pages glow with the positive side a cross-dresser may feel when found out unexpectedly.

"Transvestites will identify with the author and find the book reassuring as well as amusing. Everyone will be touched by the sensitivity and delicacy with which Christine-Jane treats the difficulties of being a TV.”

'Is There A TV In The House?'

A further selection of cartoons by Christine-Jane some of the amusing, embarrassing, ridiculous things that can happen to transvestites, always viewed with sympathy. Some of these cartoons first appeared in The Glad Rag and other TV/TS magazines both in the U.K. and America; but many are published for the first time in this collection.

'TV In The Family'

A third series of TV cartoons by Christine-Jane. A mixture of previously published work from various TV/TS magazines in the UK and USA, together with others published here for the first time.

A5 Paperback - ISBN 0 948716 10 X - £2.50 post free

'TV In The Service Of The Nation'

Christine-Jane imagined what might happen to a TV called up to do 'her' National Service. (Can’t imagine it? OK, just suspend disbelief completely and enjoy!) Drawing on her own army experiences and her fertile imagination, she visualises situations that will amuse not only transvestites, but also anyone who was dragged off, screaming, to do their two-year stint. A combination of cross dressing and Army mentality, compounded by Christine-Jane’s overdeveloped sense of the ridiculous.

A5 Paperback - ISBN 0 948716 06 1 - £2,50 post free

'In Durance Smile'

Sub ‘n’ Dom = Bondage - Slaves - Ponies - Puppies - TV Maids!!! - Having a friend who ran a “Dungeon”, Christine-Jane takes a tongue-in-cheek look at those whose pleasures lie in tying-up, harnessing, wrapping or whacking  both on the giving and receiving ends. She finds a surprising amount of humour in the situations!

A5 Paperback - ISBN 0 948716 07 X - £2.50 post free

 'Hyperbond'

A follow-up to `In Durance Smile’ Hyperbond is a series of cartoons about the opening and running of a completely different sort of Supermarket!

A5 Paperback - ISBN 0 948716 08 0 - £2.50 post free

'Hell It’s Heaven!'

Not transvestites, (Well, one sneaked in!) but an unguided tour of Christine-Jane’s vision of the afterlife populated by sexy demons and wickedly 'innocent' angels! Meet The Avenging Angel, Mephistopheles, and Saints Peter, Michael, Joan (ze insufferable) and Francis (and his 'little friends'). Now and again the Managers of both Establishments rumble disapprovingly from the sidelines, but are resigned that, as soon as the echoes have died, mischief and dirty tricks will recommence!

Too Good To Lose...
Stories from 'The Glad Rag'

The Glad Rag was the journal of the Transvestite / Transsexual Support Group of London. First published in 1982, it ran until the Group was closed in 1993. It provided accurate information about TV/TS, useful advice and comfort, and amusement. It included many short stories written by members of the Group good, literate, intriguing and often funny!

Now Christine-Jane Wilson, the editor from October 1983, has collated these into six volumes because they were just 'Too Good To Lose'.
